The women’s golf team snagged a third place finish over the weekend at the Middlebury Invitational hosted at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The rival Ephs took first place with a two-day score of 619, while Amherst totaled 672 for the weekend.

“The team is excited we were able to earn third place and not drop in our standing after day one,” said head coach Michelle Morgan. “I think each play left everything they had on the course. Their mental games are getting stronger each time they step on the course.”

Jamie Gracie ’17 led the Jeffs and continued her solid play with two back-to-back scores of 78. First-year Zoe Wong scored 168 on the weekend and senior CJ Bernstein finished with a 173. Sophomores Patrica Huang and Angelina Guan finished one stroke apart with a 175 and a 176, respectively. Katherine Britt ’15 competed as an individual, along with Hyunjee Choi ’18, and they finished with scores of 179 and 187, respecitvely.

“Although they would like to see giant steps made in refining their games, the baby steps are most important,” Morgan noted. “The team is in a good place right now and looking forward to the challenge that Taconic golf course will present at Williams.”
The Jeffs will be hitting the links again this weekend at the Williams Fall Classic.
