My name is Joshua Ferrer, and I am running for the Judiciary Council. I have been involved with voting accessibility and election fairness, and will work tirelessly to ensure the AAS constitution works best for the student body. At this moment, senators are working on a significant revision to the constitution. As a member of the JC, I will examine each and every proposed change with the same question on my mind: does this make Amherst a better place? I will be a vocal advocate for the student body and will tirelessly support the principles of fairness, transparency and equality.

Jacob Zeigler
Hello, Amherst College and all who inhabit it! I’m a first-year student from Kentucky known affectionately by friends as Jacob “the Wiggler” Zeigler (feel free to ask me why), and I’m running for a spot on the Judiciary Council. I have a special place in my heart for the judicial branch as I believe it has the purest duties in government: confirm that the rules have not been broken, and confirm that the rules are not worth breaking. Senate: Class of 2016

Sung Choi
I know nothing about school governance. I have never run for a school office in high school nor middle school. Heck, I've never been a line leader in elementary school. Nor do I have any knowledge about the political issues which AAS is confronting today. Despite these facts, I wish to run for class senator because I don't give a damn and am pretty curious if a person like me can be elected. I would love to be elected and see what I am capable of accomplishing or decomplishing as a part of student government. Honesty, guess that's my slogan.

David Dickinson
I’ve worked with the AAS from the student end over the last two years, and knowing what I want to see in my senators has motivated me to run. The senate can do a better job of including clubs and club sports, both in their priorities and in their dialogue about the recent change in coaching contracts and reorganization of their place in the college structure. Amherst can advance community-oriented goals, like making sustainability a priority and expanding our initiative to help public schools in Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton and Amherst. I want us to make the senate a solution.
