In its first tournament of the spring season, the Amherst men’s golf team tied for 12th at the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Facing a pool of 18, the Mammoths battled the top teams in New England amidst harsh weather conditions at Allendale Country Club in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

This weekend the third-seeded Amherst women’s ice hockey team travelled north to Middlebury, Vermont for the semifinals and final round of the NESCAC tournament.

The matches were held in familiar territory, as the Panthers have hosted the last seven NESCAC championship matches, winning all but three of those conference titles.

In their first matchup against No. 2 Conn. College, Amherst defender Miriam Eickhoff ’19 scored the opening goal 11 minutes into the first stanza of play.

The Amherst women’s ice hockey team opened post-season action with a dominant win over rival Williams.

This past Saturday, the puck dropped at Orr Rink, and with emotions running high, the Mammoths skated out to a commanding start.

After the Ephs were called for a penalty with two minutes left in the first period, junior Jocelyn Hunyadi opened the scoring with a power play goal to grab the 1-0 lead.

Hunyadi managed to redirect a rip from the point by first-year Mia Del Rosso.

In last week’s sole game action, the Amherst women’s ice hockey team dominated the Plymouth State Panthers, 7-1, at home in Orr Rink. With the non-conference win, the Mammoths’ record stands at 12-5-3 overall and 7-3-2 in the NESCAC.

While Plymouth State’s Shannon Hickey opened the scoring early for the Panthers, Amherst proceeded to explode with seven unanswered tallies.

The Amherst women’s ice hockey team had an exciting interterm, notching a record of 4-1-2 against a lineup of tough opponents. The Mammoths opened 2018 with a 4-2 loss against perennial NESCAC powerhouse Middlebury.
