An English and psychology double major and senior captain of the women’s basketball team, Hannah Hackley is a role model to many. Described as a selfless, caring and intelligent individual by those around her, she is known for having a positive impact wherever she goes.
When asked about his relationship to Hackley, women’s basketball head coach G.P. Gromacki simply replied, “I have not and cannot see anyone not having a good relationship with Hannah.”
Before Amherst
Arts @ Amherst Advocates is a student group that gathers student artists together to network and collaborate, while also spreading awareness about arts events happening on our campus. The club meets Wednesdays at 8 p.m. in Webster 2.
Arts Coordinator for the Arts at Amherst Initiative Lauren Horn ’17 is the head of the club. When we met, she had just come from settling two guest artists in at Marsh House.
Set during the height of the Cold War, “The Shape of Water” tells the story of Elisa Esposito (Sally Hawkins). The film opens with Elisa’s daily routine: every day she makes breakfast, bathes and polishes her shoes before heading to work, where she serves as a night-time janitor in a government laboratory. Mute and only able to communicate with others using sign language, Elisa lives alone and her routine remains unchanging.
