This weekend at Lehrman Stadium, Amherst played host to the fourth annual Spring Fling Meet. The women’s track and field team faced seven teams, including Wesleyan, Williams, Middlebury, and Brandeis. The Mammoths placed third overall.

The Amherst women’s track and field team competed this weekend in the Cupid Challenge at Tufts’ Gantcher Center. The Mammoths, competing only for individual accomplishments as no team score totals were counted, put forth a strong showing. Only 25 members of the 45 person roster, however competed in the event, due to a combination of premeditated rest and illness. Amherst did not field competitors in the 5000 meter run, the 4x200-meter relay, or the 4x80-meter relay. Amherst also did not participate in the weight throw or shot put.

The men’s Swimming and Diving Team continued their undefeated season, posting three wins over the interterm period against Union College, Conn. College and Williams.

A squad of Tristan So ’19, Eric Wong ’19, Sean Mebust ’19, and Jack Koravos ’20 took first in 200-yard freestyle relay, earning 11 points towards the team total. Amherst placed another two teams ahead of their opponents, a trend which continued throughout the day. Amherst took the top three positions in every event, except for the three-yard dive, in which Sam Hoyt placed first.

This weekend, the men’s golf team travelled to the Williams Spring Opener Tournament in Williamstown, MA at the Taconic Golf Club. The Mammoths competed against eight teams from around the NESCAC, including rival and host Williams.
