Amherst women’s lacrosse team had a perfect record this past week, going 2-0 against their respectable Mount Holyoke and Williams opponents. The purple and white currently hold the No. 8 ranking nationally with an overall record of 11-2 while they prepare for their last regular season game away against Trinity on Wednesday, April 27.

Mother Nature may have cooled the Amherst air with a recent cold front, but she was no match for the women’s lacrosse team’s hot streak. This week the purple and white went 2-1 against their NESCAC opponents, defeating Wesleyan and Colby before falling to Connecticut College. With these results, their record now stands at 8-2 for the season (5-2 NESCAC).

In a frigid midweek game on Wednesday against Wesleyan, the purple and white claimed a 10-5 win over their NESCAC rival.Amherst was strong out of the gate with a goal from Rachel Passarelli ’16 to set the tone.

The Amherst women’s lacrosse team went 2-1 over spring break, dropping a close game against NESCAC rival Bates before winning two games against McDaniel College and Dickinson in Clermont, Florida. With these results, Amherst’s record now stands at 3-1 (2-1 NESCAC).

The team endured a tough 8-7 loss to Bates in a close Saturday afternoon match on March 12.
