After three dual meets, the men’s swim team remains undefeated at 6-0 while the women stay strong at 5-1.

Women

The women’s team bested Union 202-88, winning 13 of 16 events. Courtney Flynn ’15 won the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and swam for the winning 200 medley relay. Abby Hahn ’14 was second in both backstroke events and won the 200 IM. Audrey Ingerson ’14 edged out classmate Anna Pietrantonio by less than 0.1 seconds to win the 1,000 freestyle.
Stephanie Ternullo ’15 and Ashleigh Stoddart ’15 were first and second in the 200 free while Katie Vincett ’13 won the 100 and 50 free events. Maddy Sprung-Keyser ’13 won the 100 backstroke. Cassie Gross ’14 won the 200 butterfly before placing second to Allison Merz ’14 in the 100 fly. Lizzy Linsmayer ’14 and Claire Wagner ’14 went one-two in both diving events.
The Jeffs fell to Williams 185-115, winning just four events. Sabrina Lee ’15 won the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events, and Flynn took first in the 100 breaststroke. Linsmayer placed first on the 1-meter board.

The Jeffs defeated Hamilton 177-123. First-years Lee, Flynn, Stoddart and Ricka Sadovnikoff opened the meet by edging the Continentals in the 200 medley relay by just 0.15 seconds. Pietrantonio and Ternullo were first and second in the 1,000 freestyle. Flynn, Lulu Belak ’14 and Hahn took first through third in the 50 breaststroke. Flynn also won the 100 breaststroke, with Hahn claiming second and Belak placing third.

Gross won the 100 butterfly while Sadovnikoff and Nicole Heise ’13 were one-two in the 50 butterfly. Becca Thompson ’12 won the 500 free. Linsmayer and Wager were two-three in the one-meter event and first and third on the 3-meter board. The Jeffs ended the day with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Men

The men’s team won three meets to extend their dual meet winning streak to 15 over winter break. The Jeffs entered the meet against Union having won all 45 events this season, a streak that was terminated by the Dutchmen, who were victorious in two butterfly and two diving events. Co-captain Tim White ’12 won the 200-yard freestyle and backstroke, and contributed to wins in two relays. Nick Egan ’14, Connor Beaulieu ’12 and Michael Rochford ’15 each won two events each. Ryan Lichtenfels ’12 and Brandon Brown ’15 also had first-place finishes.

The 10th-ranked Jeffs defeated No. 8 Williams 145-98. They won the 400 medley relay before White won the 1,000-yard freestyle. Lichtenfels came in second in the 200 free. Tyler Hampton ’15 held the Ephs off by just .05 seconds for a first-place finish in the 50 free. Divers Colin White ’14 and Mark Idleman ’15 placed first and third on the one- and three-meter boards. Conor Deveney ’14 and Daniel Schwab ’13 were one-two in the 200 backstroke, and T. White and Lichtenfels won the top two spots in the 500 freestyle. Beaulieu placed first in the 50 breaststroke.

The Jeffs beat Hamilton by a convincing score of 228-56. They won 15 of 16 events in the meet. T. White won the 50 free and 200 IM. Lichtenfels and Conor McAuliffe ’14 won the 200- and 1,000-yard freestyle events, respectively. Deveney led Connor Sholtis ’15 and Hampton to take first through third in the 100 free. Bulakul and Schwab placed first and second both backstroke events. Ben McBratney ’12 and Bart Federak ’12 were first and second in the 50 breaststroke while Beaulieu won the 100 breaststroke. Rochford placed first in the 100 fly. The Jeffs won both relays, and divers C. White and Idleman were first and second, respectively, in both events.
