Riding high on a 22-win season, women’s tennis is more prepared than ever entering their 2014 fall campaign. Last season, the Jeffs won their eighth NESCAC Championship in the last 10 years. Earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the Jeffs went on to defeat Endicott, MIT, Carnegie Mellon and Williams, before falling to Emory in the National Championship match.

The Amherst men’s golf team traveled to North Carolina’s Pinehurst Golf Resort for spring break to train for the upcoming spring season. Although the players were excited to leave the frigid northeast, the team still braved 30-degree chills and rain while taking on the Trinity College men’s golf team. Although Trinity placed ahead of the Lord Jeffs in the NESCAC tournament this fall, the Jeffs defeated the Bantams by a score of 4-1.

Men
First-year Cameron Bahadori led the men’s squash team this past weekend at the Div. III Invitational held at Wesleyan. Bahadori advanced to the semifinals of the “B” Draw, topping Carlos Ames of Bates and Maxwell Bearse of Bowdoin before falling to Caran Aorora of Bates in a grueling five-game battle.

Darian Ehsani ’17 also competed in the “B” Draw and defeated David Bian of MIT in a competitive first-round match, 7-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-5, 11-5. After receiving a second-round bye, Ehsani then lost to Aorora of Bates.
