The Jeffs competed in the Middlebury Invitational against the Panthers, Williams and Springfield on Friday and Saturday before closing out their dual meet season on Sunday against Springfield.

Women

Ashleigh Stoddart ’15 led the women with victories in the 50- and 200-yard freestyle events, besting 29 other swimmers in the 50. First years Sabrina Lee and Courtney Flynn won the 200 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, respectively. Katie Vincett ’13 led the field in the 100 free. Lee, Flynn, Vincett and Allison Merz ’14 made up the Jeffs’ winning 200 medley relay team.

Lizzy Linsmayer ’14 broke a 22-year-old pool record in the three-meter diving event to aid the Jeffs in their 180-111 victory over Springfield. Lee broke a pool record in the 100 individual medley and had the top time in the 200 free. Flynn won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Senior co-captain Becca Thompson took first in both backstroke events. Stoddart, Vincett and Stephanie Ternullo ’15 won the 50-, 100- and 500-yard freestyle events, respectively.

Ricka Sadovnikoff ’15 won the 100 butterfly, while Nicole Heise ’13 claimed the top spot in the 200. Abby Hahn ’14 won the 400 IM. The Jeffs won both the 200 free and 200 medley relays, edging Springfield by just .03 seconds in the medley.

Men

The Jeffs dominated the freestyle event at Middlebury, with Robbie Homchick ’14 winning the 50- and 100-yard events, Ryan Lichtenfels ’12 finishing first in the 200 and Sam Cagenello ’15 winning the 1,650. Tyler Bulakul ’14 and Conor Deveney ’15 led the Jeffs to one-two-three finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, respectively. Peter Landefeld ’14 won the 100 butterfly and Michael Rochford ’15 claimed first in the 200 IM, leading teammates who claimed second through fifth. Diver Colin White ’14 won the three-meter diving event. The Jeffs won all four relays, with Bulakul, Connor Sholtis ’15 and Ben McBratney ’12 swimming for three relay teams and Deveney and Rochford swimming for two each.

Diver White broke the pool record on the three-meter board and won the one-meter event as the Jeffs beat Springfield 172-115. Mark Idleman ’15 placed second and third in each event, respectively. The Jeffs won the first 15 events but were disqualified in the 200 free relay, the final event of the meet.

Homchick and Lichtenfels won the 50 and 500 freestyles, with Lichtenfels beating the runner-up by a comfortable 15 seconds. Brandon Brown ’15 and Tim White ’12 won the 100 and 200 freestyle events, respectively, with Brown also finishing first in the 100 backstroke. Daniel Schwab ’13 took first in the 200 back. Seniors McBratney and Bart Federak won the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, while first-years Alex Kang and Rochford took the butterfly events. Connor Beaulieu ’14 won the 400 IM and Deveney out-touched Rochford in the 100 IM.
