Men

Led by third through fifth place finishes by Dillon Buckley ’13, Gus Greenstein ’14 and Romey Sklar ’15, respectively, the men’s cross country team took first place at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, held at Williams last weekend. The victory marked the first team win for the men’s cross country team this season, and the first ECAC victory in program history.

Women

Donned in a white NBA headband and eye-black to protect herself from the grueling Maine sun, senior all-American Keri Lambert broke the Bowdoin course record en route to winning the NESCAC Championship — her third straight first-place finish of the season and another impressive accolade in what has proved to be an illustrious, if not dominant, career as a Jeff.

Women
Three weeks ago at the Williams Invitational, senior All-American Keri Lambert lost her lead in the race’s final stretch and was promptly outkicked by Middlebury’s Addie Tousley to lose first place. That loss, it seems, has sparked something dangerous in the Amherst native.

Over fall break the women’s cross country team traveled to Westfield State to race in the 43-team James Earley Invitational.

Women
Led by senior captain Liz Monty, the Lady Jeffs golf team ended their fall play with two successful tournaments, taking fifth at the Williams Fall Invitational over fall break before tying for third at the Wellesley Invitational.

Held over a rainy weekend at the Taconic Golf Club, the Williams Fall Invitational proved a difficult weekend for the 14 schools involved. Over the first day, only two players shot a score below 80.

Women
The Lady Jeffs faced off against Williams over fall break in their only duel match of the fall season. Last season, Amherst fell to Ephs in both the fall and the spring, before getting revenge in the NESCAC tournament, topping Williams to capture the conference victory.

Hoping to continue their winning ways, the Lady Jeffs got things goings immediately, winning two of the three doubles matches. From there, the visitors never looked back, rolling to a 6-3 win.

Men

The men’s tennis team journeyed to a rainy Williams on Saturday to play in the ITA Regional Tennis Tournament. In what proved to be their first taste of collegiate singles, first-years Ben Fife and Andrew Yaraghi did not disappoint. Fife, unseeded, and Yaraghi, seeded 16th, both battled their way through the 64-player field and eventually met in the final.

WOMEN

The women’s golf team made the short trip to Mount Holyoke on Saturday to play in the two-day Mount Holyoke Invitational. Hoping to build on last weekend’s successful NYU Invitational (third of 16), the Lady Jeffs took sixth place overall behind senior Liz Monty’s impressive individual efforts.
